English (US)   Just Jacked Up, Man...  -  Categories: Miscellaneous  -  @ 02:41:14 pm

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been avidly watching the Olympics every evening.  Inspite of my ever-growing dark circles from staying up late, I have been very pleased with the events and especially the way the Chinese have hosted the games so far.  That is... until I happened upon THIS little article!

English (US)   iPhone - Greatest Invention of Our Time?  -  Categories: Miscellaneous  -  @ 11:33:53 am

I know that the iPhone is incredibly revolutionary in the technology world, but I had also estimated that there would be comparable items on the market within 6 months of the iPhone's release. Well, here we are a year later and there is still no item on the market that is even CLOSE to the iPhone (as far as interface/functionality/asthetics). So now I have begun to wonder, what is Apple going to do to improve the iPhone, because it appears that there is no risk of competition at this point. This morning I found the answer to that question.

English (US)   To Knock or Not to Knock...  -  Categories: Miscellaneous  -  @ 05:30:35 pm
Sales Man

Over the course of my life, it has been ingrained in me to "run and hide" when ever I see someone walking down the street with a clip board in hand. Whether it's Girl Scout Cookies, Lawn Care, knives, newspapers, or some coupon deal, I have learned to "run and hide" to avoid the inevitable awkward conversation that will most certainly develop if I stick around. After all, none of these so-called "offers" are really for my benefit... right?

Well... This morning I attended a real estate course this morning entitled "Lead Generation", and as I suspected/feared, the strategy of door knocking was mentioned again and again as one of the BEST, most proven, and most effective methods to generate business. Sigh...

English (US)   Perks Amidst Economic Woes?  -  Categories: Miscellaneous  -  @ 01:30:18 pm

The current state of the US economy is not something that comes as a surprise... well, at least it SHOULDN'T come as a surprise.  As a nation with a record low (negative, in fact) savings rate, it's only a matter of time before the economic bubble we're on implodes.  We are on the very shakey edge of a whole mess of economic problems as the one thing that is barely holding us up is also the very thing that has gotten us in this position in the first place: 'Consumer Spending'.

Now HERE'S an awesome sport that us "cube dwellers" can get into.  Ok... "sport" may be a bit misleading.  Hobby perhaps?  Anyway, ever since my college days when I really got into Extreme Unicycling a.k.a. MUni, extreme sledding (basically hiking up the ol' ski hills at Eldora and sledding down... in the middle of the night... in the terrain park), and Aggressive Walking,  I've been looking for another odd talent to add to my repitoir of Wildness.  Well the other day, I stumbled upon a gem!

While this is quite funny and very well done, you have to ask yourself, "Who thinks of AND has the time for something like this???"

English (US)   Engineered Art  -  Categories: Miscellaneous  -  @ 10:38:23 am

As our world population grows, the number of people in every work field
grows proportionally (or roughly so). This growth creates increased competition,
as well as an increased amount of material/product that results from each
field. In the field of Art, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find
a style that is distinctly different, while maintaining a high standard of
quality. Over the last few years, I have seen a lot of art that is
distinctly different, but it's as if "being different" was all the
artist had in mind while creating their steaming pile of crapola.
